I decided a long time ago that I was not happy going to a store photography studio to have portraits of my family taken. I was sure there was a better, more personal way to make the pictures fit my life and not the other way around! That is why I started Picture Perfect by Jo! I will come to you or a location that you chose or I can suggest some great locations since I was born and raised in the Mattoon-Charleston area! I will take your portrait with the same love and care that I give to taking portraits of my own family!

I specialize in outdoor digital portraits, and had been taking photographs as a hobby for several years when I realized that I was spending so much time and money doing it that it could easily transition into something more serious. As a result, Picture Perfect by Jo was born.

When people ask me what style I soot in, my response is always pretty much the same: "Laid back, easy going, photo journalistic to capture everything that is YOU!" So if you are looking for stale, pose oriented photography then I am probably not the person for you! I would rather capture the real YOU as opposed to the perfectly posed you! I want you to look at your photos 50 years from now and say WOW, as the emotions you felt at the moment come rushing back in living color!
